My car insurance agent said an accident claim should be less than $750 so as not to bring up premium, true ?
Say even if it is not your fault, there is a rock or golf ball hit your windshield while driving, even if you have comprehensive coverage, my agent said your claim should not be more than $750, if not it will bring up your premium next time, true ? I'm in California, using AAA.
Most people have a deductible for comprehensive that's about $500 and at least for my company, there is an accident threshold around $800 where they won't raise your rate for a claim. That leaves about a $300 "window of opportunity" where you could put in a claim without it affecting your premium.
I would trust your agent, but be aware that you'll still have to pay the deductible and do a lot of paperwork to replace that windshield.
