Tee Markers
(Golf) In strike play, if a player tees the ball slightly infront of the tee marker?
and the competitor calls it to the player's attention, what is the remedy.
If they let you know before you hit the shot then you are fine, and you can go ahead and move it.
If not, then you have to come back to within the tee box and hit it, for a 2 stroke penalty. This must be done before teeing off on the next hole! I've had this happen to me in a tournament, and every player in my group got disqualified for teeing off the wrong tee-box and not going back and correcting the error.
In match play, there isn't any penalty except you opponent may immediately ask you to cancel the stroke and tee off from the correct location.
