Are Wimbledon towels washed before they are given to players to use?
Just wondering, as new towels have to be washed at least once before use to make them absorbent...
It's just that if they were fresh out of the packet they wouldn't soak up much sweat!
Actually, they might not be. I have heard stories about tennis players complaining and asking for laundered towels at other tournaments. Precisely for the reason you indicate - the new ones do not absorb much water because of all the "stuff" on them from the manufacturing process.
